  1. Antony John was born in England and raised on a balanced diet of fish and chips, obscure British comedies, and ABBA s Greatest Hits In a fit of teenage rebellion, he decided to pursue a career in classical music, culminating in a BA from Oxford University and a PhD from Duke University Along the way, he worked as an ice cream seller on a freezing English beach, a tour guide in the Netherlands, a chauffeur in Switzerland, a barista in Seattle, and a university professor Writing by night, he spends his days as a stay at home dad the only job that allows him to wear his favorite pair of sweatpants all the time He lives in St Louis with his family.

  2. If you ve read my reviews, you know that I really enjoy Antony John s books He has a great voice, and I m going to pick up every book he writes The Elemental trilogy is no exception I remember reading the first book and being sucked into this dystopian paranormal world where everything was bleak, but yet, anything was possible I loved the voice of Thomas and really enjoyed Alice, the fiesty sidekick and the sweet Rose, who had a lot of potential to become than just sweet The paranormal aspect w [...]

  3. After how much I enjoyed the second book, this one was a bit of a let down The story felt really weird and didn t always seem to make sense The whole book was just one big revelation after another without much build up view spoiler Like when Rose was bitten by a rat, I feel like it would have been better if we d actually seen or heard it happen instead of someone waking Thomas up and telling him The fight with the rats at the end was kind of interesting but got out of hand really fast How did an [...]

  4. I loved the two previous books so much I don t know what happened here I guess I got tired of Thomas being almost dead yet managing to get up and fight First, Ranaoke was deserted and now it turns out it has people hiding How long were they away from Ranaoke Apparently it was just a week but I had felt it was a lot than that.Although everything came out nicely put together, I was tired of the constant sense of danger, the secrecy, and the tension Alice fell down and was overtaken by rats, yet s [...]

  6. OH MY GOODNESS.Renegade, you have stolen my heart Wow, my heart is still pumping from the adrenaline that I had felt while reading this Wow, this trilogy has truly moved me Empowered, I have felt, especially while reading this last book Amazing, just amazing I bought Renegade the first day it came out, but schoolwork and writing and everything have pressed down on me, preventing me from reading it And it was the saddest thing, because Renegade just sad on my desk, staring intently at me, tauntin [...]

  7. This book is my second favorite in the Elemental trilogy I really enjoyed reading this book But the ending was too simple Way too simple.

  8. 9. So going in to this book, I was expecting of a MG level novel I m not sure why exactly but somehow I was expecting of a younger audience I m so glad I was wrong though because this book is definitely in the YG category and it is surprisingly good. What I liked about this book Unique plot and setting the fact that this was a dystopian society and somehow a small group of people with elemental powers have survived on an island while everyone else seemed to be trapped on boats and most do not have [...]

  10. I have a love hate relationship with trilogies and other types of series When I find a really good book, I hate coming to the end because that means I don t get to visit the wonderful characters again This is why I love all sorts of trilogies they allow me to extend my visit with characters I like and want to know better And then when I m really hooked on this relationship, they leave, too So I was really looking forward to Renegage, the final book in the Elemental trilogy by Antony John. The exc [...]

  11. This book was really good Thomas and his friends are now at sea trying to get back to Roanoke Island They then have to face Dare who is chasing them in his ship Thomas and his friends make a plan and hijack and take Dare s ship along with his food Thomas and friends then reach Roanoke Island but then have to face a major problem Read and find out what happens The reason I gave it the 4 star rating is because I wouldn t classify most books as amazing so this was really good just not amazing Peopl [...]

  12. Originally posted on BlueAnteaterThe last in the Elemental trilogy.I liked this series I liked the portrayal of the elemental powers, and I liked how the characters, though they seemed to fall into standard stereotypes, were actually quite different and surprising in their actions and development The plot wasn t any radical, but still unique Really, only the writing itself was lackluster, but it worked fine A ultimately well done, quick read.

  13. By far the best installment in the Trilogy.lly I got what I hoped for in this series a great battle of elementsI thought the characters were well developed and the ending of the trilogy was satisfying enough but undoubtedly left open for stories in this worldwould I read them Maybe not but for the most part this Trilogy itself was a quick read and at times enjoyable once you re willing to invest time into the story

  14. This book was good It kept the pages turning, and the plot was excellent as well as how the climax played out I read it in a day and definitely enjoyed it And yet something about it feels lacking I think it is the fact that there don t seem to be any deep relationships between the characters at the end, and any that did exist get broken by Thomas s choice at the end of the novel That bugs me, I guess. All in all it was a good read though, and I recommend it.

  16. It was a struggle to get through Half the characters were annoying, especially Alice And a bunch of useless lies The people never learn It seemed to me it was pretty little liars with powers and the adults being the one who was lying

  17. This was a good end to the Elemental trilogy Overall the books were an entertaining, quick read It was a nice little story of survival in the face of change I definitely would recommend this series to anyone that likes books written in this style.

  18. The best book out of the series was the second I had to see how the story ended It s funny how the author hints to people being accepted equally yet our main characters still have reservations I think I would still be interested if the story continued with what they all find on the mainland.

  19. Predictable end to a good series Clearly set up to segue into another couple of books about their journey onto the mainland.
